  Word of God

God has done great things…
Luke 1:49

Contemplating the scenes of the Rosary in union with Mary
is a means of learning from her to ‘read’ Christ,
to discover his secrets,
and to understand his message.

  Word of God

Hail, Mary.
Luke 1:28

Against the background of the words ‘Ave Maria’,
the principal events of the life of Jesus Christ
pass before the eyes of the soul.

Rosarium Virginis Mariae

  Word of God

Mary pondered all these things in her heart.
Luke 2:19

To recite the Rosary is nothing more
than to contemplate with Mary the face of Jesus.

Rosarium Virginis Mariae

  Word of God

Follow me.
Jesus; Matthew 4:19

The Rosary is a contemplative and Christocentric prayer,
inseparable from meditation on Holy Scripture.
It is the prayer of the Christian
who advances on his pilgrimage of faith,
following Jesus and preceded by Mary.

His Holiness, Benedict XVI

  Word of God

Mary kept all these things,
pondering them in her heart.
Luke 2:19

The Rosary,
precisely because it starts with Mary's own experience,
is an exquisitely contemplative prayer.

  Word of God

Peace be within your walls.
Psalm 122:7

The Rosary, when it is prayed in an authentic way,
not mechanical and superficial, but profoundly;
brings in fact, peace and reconciliation.

His Holiness, Benedict XVI

  Word of God

Love one another as I have loved you.
Jesus; John 15:12

The Holy Rosary,
by age-old tradition, has shown itself particularly effective
as a prayer which brings the family together.
Individual family members, in turning their eyes towards Jesus,
also regain the ability to look one another in the eye,
to communicate, to show solidarity, to forgive one another
and to see their covenant of love renewed in the Spirit of God.

Rosarium Virginis Mariae

  Word of God

Seek his face!
Psalm 27:8

When prayed well in a truly meditative way,
the Rosary leads to an encounter with Christ in his mysteries
and so cannot fail to draw attention to the face of Christ in others,
especially in the most afflicted.
