  Word of God

The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him
will be condemned.
Psalm 34:22

Seek refuge in Mary because she is the city of refuge.
We know that Moses set up three cities of refuge
for anyone who inadvertently killed his neighbor.
Now the Lord has established a refuge of mercy, Mary,
even for those who deliberately commit evil.
Mary provides shelter and strength for the sinner.

St. Anthony of Padua, 13th century

  Word of God

Ungrudgingly do I share,
her riches I do not hide.
Wisdom 7:13

Mary's heart is the cloister
where the Word continues to speak in silence,
and at the same time it is the crucible of a charity
that is conducive to courageous gestures,
as well as to a persevering and hidden sharing.

His Holiness, Benedict XVI

Be merciful,

May the Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,
obtain for us the gift of always trusting in God's love

Here is your mother.
Jesus; John 19:27

The title of Mary as our mother is not merely symbolic.
Mary is our mother in the most real sense.
She begot our life of grace for us
because she offered up her entire being,
body and soul, as the Mother of God.

St. Edith Stein, 20th century

  Word of God

Behold, your mother.
Jesus; John 19:27

Do not fear any illness, vexation, anxiety or pain;
am I not here, who am your mother?

  Word of God

The Lord is with you.
Luke 1:28

Mary’s earthly life was a pilgrimage of faith.
Like us, she walked in shadows
and hoped for things unseen.

Pope John Paul II. 20th century

  Word of God

Blessed is she who believed.
Luke 1:45

Mary, may the light of your faith
dispel the darkness of our minds.
